I can already hear the groans & protests coming from Jane so I'm not going to bother suggesting that to her. The other option for the SharePoint calendar is to create an email address for it and re-train the entire customer service team to include this email address in all of their meeting invites so that the SharePoint calendar will stay up to date. 4- This morning I also researched the possibility of sharing the team calendars to a SharePoint calendar but quickly learned that all changes made in Outlook would need to be manually written to the SharePoint calendar as there was no automatic syncing available. After waiting for a while and many refreshes later, the calendars still didn't load. It errors out with a message that the calendars can't be loaded at this time and to please refresh the page. 3- This morning I researched the possibility of adding the distribution list to Outlook via the web app and found that it doesn't work there. She wants the process that she has been using to continue to work. 2- We offered Jane the workaround of individually adding the calendars of only her team (20) instead of the entire department (almost 40) but this isn't something she wants to pursue. It seems to be something that Microsoft is aware of as my team mate has been told that this a flaw by design or a service degradation with Microsoft not offering anything else. We are able to replicate the issue by adding ourselves to the distribution list and testing on MacBooks running the same OS version as Jane's. The only thing that has changed for her is the operating system that she is running.įacts: 1- My team mate has already reached out to Microsoft Support on this issue. Jane's permissions have not changed at all.
ADD CALENDAR IN OUTLOOK FOR MAC FOR MAC
When she tries to add a shared calendar & adds the distro that she's been using on the Windows side, Outlook for Mac tells her that she doesn't have the permissions to add that shared calendar.

Problem: Jane transitioned to a MacBook Pro. This made it easy for Jane to see who on her team had appointments with which customers. In doing this, everyone's calendar who is part of the distro, will show up in the Calendar section of Jane's Outlook. With this, Jane was running Office 365 on a Windows-based computer and was able to add the customer service distribution list to her calendar. Jane and her team are part of the customer service department and as such, often have to schedule blocks of team to reach back out to customers for training or follow ups, etc. Hi everyone! I've got a bit of a weird situation that I'm trying to find a workaround or solution for.īackground: We have an end user, Jane, who is a manager of a team of 20.
